If you buy 4 front wheels you will be able to mount to your E70 X5 with no problems. If you note, the rear of the X6 has a different offset and a hub size that is smaller. You can either use the rear wheel with a hub adapter (current 74.1mm to 72.56mm) or have a machine shop bore the hub out.

If you're buying new (seems there could be better choices if you are IMO) then buy 4 fronts for easiest.

Does it matter if my 2012 X5 has the M Sport Package?

Does not matter. All X5 except X5M have the same hub at all four corner.

Boilerbacker? Purdue?
