New "soon to be" owner here.

Hello all, new user here. Have an M3 on order and currently sitting at the docks waiting to catch a ride to the US. Very excited and hoping to be driving it in 3 weeks! It has been a long time ... totaled my 335i 3 months ago and took the step up to the M3. Hope I'm not disappointed with the I6. I've heard a lot about the exhaust not sounding "Beefy" enough. I guess I will find out soon! Yay!

You'll love it. Most videos/audio don't do it justice.

I like it from inside the car especially when it pops but even straight piped it sounds much better suited to a younger crowd and far from the NA v8 the old guys love

Yea, I'm an old 58yo trying to "re-live" my youth with muscle cars. LOL. My 335I M Sport was awesome,,very fast and handled corners beautifully. I can just imaging how the M3 will drive. Just wish it had that beefy V8 sound like the newer stangs, vetts and dodge hemi's have. Oh well,,I'm sure I'll grow to love it!

^you'll be a little pissed then the v10 m5/v8 m3 were MUCH more suited to this.

This will be closer to a ricer sound than it will be to like an old American V8.

That sounds like an upgrade in my op with catless DPs but again its far closer to a ricer than it is to muscle lol

Thats what my mom thinks lol, it sounds way more awesome driving around than it does being outside the vehicle, but again closer to a honda than the v10 m5 lol

I would say videos you see its within range of what you hear on videos not 100% accurate but maybe 70-85% accurate.

Thanks FLState. I have no idea when she's going to set sail. Arrived at the docs yesterday and now we wait for loading. I call BMW daily and watch the web site and so far I'm happy with the progress. My CA seems to think it will be here in 3 weeks. I'm praying for the first week in Sept. The excitement is building. May drive to Sanibel island with my girl to do some shelling after pickup in Fort Walton..just enough to go through the break in process. Hope I don't get any tickets..too bad they don't make radar jammers!

^Beltronics Sti-R plus does wonders...

And they do make laser jammers if they run Lidar around you

Interesting, need to check. I had my 335i's spedo pegged at 160 coming back from Mobile along a dark stretch of I-10, and it felt like I was doing 50. Incredible..can't wait to try with the M3, but will invest in a jammer first if they are using Lindar.

http://www.antilaser.ca/*****alpriority/ these are the best right now took top spot form laser interceptors, Laser Quad interceptors being second best, blinders being third, and anything else I wouldn't trust.

Along with passport 9500ci or Beltronics STi-R plus [stir is undetectable still at the moment in states with radar detector detectors]

or V1 is easy to use but tons of false readings.

I was going to pick it up in South Carolina for the Driving Experience but had to wait until Oct 2! Well, I just couldn't wait another month so I canceled. Sorry to say but I hope mine goes before the end of the week. If yours just started production I will guess you have another 2 weeks before transport to the docks.

What model did you get?

I ordered the M3 in Blue with black leather, exec package, LED lights, M assist with DCT and black 19" wheels and cameras. The only after market thing going on this baby will be a radar detector. Can't wait!

Congrats! It looks like the Yas Marina Blue take rate is higher than I personally expected. My Yas car will hopefully be delivered by later today or tomorrow.

You're in for a treat then. I ordered YMB before seeing it in person. Once I saw it in person, I knew that I made the right choice instinctually. It's beautiful!
