bluetooth issue with iphone - i can hear them, they can't hear me!

anyone have this issue? I make a call with the phone sync'd like normal. I can hear them answer and it's almost like I have a mute button on, but my car doesn't have a mute button. They can't hear a word I say. If I switch the phone over to speaker or iphone, they can hear me fine, so it's clearly a BMW issue.

Now I'm sure when I get back in the car today, it'll all be fine but this is just weird. And no, there is NO mute button on my idrive screen when I'm on the phone, so don't ask

I would try to unpair and pair again. The mic is also by the sunvisor. Try to give it a few taps.

nope. went to dealer, tried his phone, worked no problem at all. He has an older iphone software version. But I think i've had this version for awhile with no issues. Only difference is I DID get a new iphone yesterday. no idea how to update the bluetooth software in car - plugged in dealer's USB drive into car, nowhere on a 2011 to update software on idrive system.

Looks like is time for the combox upgrade. Then you will be able to update the software in the car as phones evolve also.
