I have the "S6VCA Steuerung Combox" which translates to "Control for Combox" Does this mean I have the controls for a Combox, but no Combox?

Can you do native music Bluetooth through your car? If so, you should have a combox.

Honestly, I have probably used less than 1/3 of the options my car has....I just like driving it!

It will be an option in the iDrive under external devices in audio.

You should be updating from the center armrest USB not the glovebox.

Also try checking your VIN here and downloading the firmware that shows up.

My pleasure. Enjoy though IMHO we're long overdue on a new release. My new phone has tons of bugs with the bluetooth.

Say I don't have the bluetooth option nor is there the software update option in iDrive can I update the software? Will any update I potentially get turn on bluetooth streaming?

Lastly after checking my VIN it says "You are running the latest software. There is no software update available." Not sure how this can be considering its 2011 Model 740LI.

I have the same car, REV. You need a newer combox. We have the older one -- bluetooth phone-enabled only. I had a nice email conversation with Patryk from bimmertech and my understanding is that the updated combox they offer will address both bluetooth audio and USB. Just to clarify my USB comment. Our combox does NOT have any integration with an iPhone or any modern smartphone via the USB (it only gives power), but you can stick an old school thumb drive in there and play Mp3's. Production date on my car was 9/2010 and I believe anything after 12/2010 has the new combox.

I'm going to pick up the bimmertech retrofit sometime next month hopefully when I have some time. I'll post an update here when done.

Jimmy
