Exclamation Bmw x3 remote central locking issue

Hi Everyone,im from uk and i will try to explain the issue i have with my X3 2006 reg.

I bought this car about 100 miles away from my home and when we went to have a look at it the actual diamond key and the same spare one wasn't working,we bought the car and came back to home after about 2 hours driving and the key worked.I thought the key recharged itself because as far as i know these keys are sealed and recharges themselves as soon as you put it into the ignition. But then, the car sat in the driveway for a while as needed some mechanical stuff doing, and suddenly stopped working,i have driven the car about half hour then tried but no luck whatsoever.

So i have been looking this problem on Google and typed in some random stuff, and i came across with this website and had a quick look, someone had the same issue with his/her 5 series and the advises were check the fuse and to understand whether fuse blown or not, lock the car with the key, and then check the petrol tank lid see if it is still opens or not,but i this car was 5 series and it was old as well.I don't would that still works.I haven't tried it yet.

Any helps will be appreciated.

Thanks for the advises upfront.

On my 2005 X3, I had a problem w/ the key in Washington DC. Wouldn't work at all. When I left the area, it worked again. Electrical interference with the key frequency kept it from working there. Maybe you have a similar problem...

Yeah, blown fuses was the fix in 1980s.

It's probably lost sync with the car. there is a sequence for inserting one key, turning on then off the ignition, then on every key pressing a two-button sequence.
