Post TPMS system

Can anyone provide a technical description (or link) of the TPMS components and full system? I'm interested in knowing how the car (or PC) monitors the sensors inside the wheels. Where is the receiver?

There were two systems, one that uses transmitters in each wheel with an antenna in the wheel arch and one that estimated the rotational diameter using the ABS rings.

On the LCI E83 (and some of the later '06 models?), yes.

Not sure what it stands for in German.

Seems RDC and RPA are the acronyms according to this.
