New Purchase - Few things I plan on getting down. Should I or no?

Hi all,

This is my first post here. I recently bought an 06' 323i in silver/grey color. Everything is stock! I am planning on getting the following things done to it to spice it up a bit -

- Black paint (not vinyl wrap) on the roof
- Smokey black tail and headlights
- Black paint on the front grille
- Black paint on the rims (16inch stock rims with 5 spokes)

As you can probably tell, I'm going for the black theme here. I think it would look pretty decent. I took it to a body shop and the guy there told me that painting 16inch rims black might make the rim look like its 15inch. I don't really think it matters that much as I've seen a lot of people paint their 16inch rims. What do you guys suggest? Should I go ahead and make these changes?

Thanks!

I'm not a fan, but then it's not my car. Do what makes you happy.

Not my cup of tea either, but if that's what you think you want; first try using plastidip in place of paint. If you then decide to go a different direction it's easily removed.

I've never understood why someone would intentionally reduce the output of their tail and/or headlights.

I wouldn't tint your lights, either forward or rear facing.

You decrease light output when you smoke the lights. For forward lighting you reduce your visibility at night. For rear lighting, you decrease the effectiveness of your brake lights and increase your chances of being rear ended.

Everything else is cosmetic and you should do as you please.

I agree about the rims looking smaller when painted black. IMO 16's already look a little odd on the E90's, if it was me I would look at getting some aftermarket rims. Also wrapping the roof might be a better idea as it's fully reversible and looks just as good if not better than a paint job.

I would pass on every 'mod' you listed, but that's just me. With that said, it's your car and you should do what will make you happy.
