Any idea what CODE reading this is?

After removing the speedo from my '97 740i for a pixel repair, I reinstalled it and the alarm went off and this message appeared and now the car won't start. On the MID, it looks like it is looking for a four-digit code. I tried to enter the last four digits of the VIN but this set off the alarm again. I also disconnected the battery for 20 minutes but that didn't help either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.

Here is what the MID reads...

Try 0000. If that's not it, disconnect the battery again for 10 minutes. Connect and turn the key to position 1. IIRC, you should get a 10 minute countdown and then the car will start. This may only work for NAV cars. Have not read up on this for awhile. If you have the supplemental manuals for the car, the override instructions should be there.

Thank for the input. I'll give it a try tomorrow morning. I have seen the 10-minute countdown. Do you just let the 10 minutes runs down without entering a code? And when the battery is disconnected, should the two posts be touching or just disconnect the battery?

Thank you Mayorchuck! I disconnected the battery and entered 0000. Turned the car off and then turned it on and the car started. Taking it out for first ride since last Tuesday (and with a fresh batch of pixels.)

Thanks again for your input.
