2007 BMW 335i added non BMW coolant

Hello I'm new to this forum and new BMW owner, today morning when I started the car the coolant icon turned on and had to go to college so I rushed to an oil change service place and he added a little bit of coolant but it was orange I just order the OEM BMW coolant from ebay, but my question is that is it bad what I did he just added a little bit and he told me it's synthetic will anything get damaged?

It's fine. You have nothing to worry about.

In the future, you can top off with distilled water. It's about $2 for a gallon at your local supermarket.

However, the more water you have in there versus coolant, the lower the freezing point is.

So in winter months, especially in MI, you need at least a 50/50 mix of coolant/distilled water.

For a 2007, you probably have over 60k miles on your car and may want to consider a coolant system overlook and flush.

Thank you for your reply I just ordered the oem bmw blue color antifreeze coolant will it take more than a gallon for 50/50?

That is coolant concentrate. You mix it with 1 gallon of DISTILLED water for a 50/50 mix.
