A/C Problem

On initial startup, the A/C blower works but no A/C. Then, after 5 km or so and a couple of full throttle accelerations, the A/C comes on and starts blowing cold air. It will operate fine as long as it is driven. If I park for more than about an hour or two, I have to go through the routine again to get it to work. I have replaced the condenser fan in front and I have had the gas checked , problem seems to be getting slowly worse. Any ideas

Just a wild Ass Guess but the clutch for the compressor may not be working all the time. Air Gap between the clutch and pulley is not within spec.
