Rear Center Seat Belt locked

Warning

I recently put the dual back seat down to move a load, when I went to return it to the upright, I found the center seat belt had wound in and locked solid preventing the seat from returning to the upright locked position.

As a result I had to get the Emergency Service out to fix it.

After a couple of hours, they decided it was dead and unbolted the bottom harness to enable me to complete my journey, I needed to put 2 kids in the back for a 80 mile trip home so the seats were required.

A word to the wise, if your putting the seats down, you might want to pull some slack on the belt to ensure enough freedom to put the seat up, I,e wrap it round the headrest

Jon

By any chance, were you parked on an inclined (up or downhill)? Some seatbelt mechanism can accidently lock into place if the car is not parked on a flat surface.

No it was on the level,

The reel appears to have wound in too far and will now need replacing, its locked solid
