Clear Corners?

I'm looking for clear corners, but I want the ones that have some orange color in it. But my question is, is the corner really clear with the parking light on that makes is have that orange color or are their two different types of clear corners..? (One that is completely clear and one that is partially). Because I've seen pictures that seem to depict both unless its just the parking light being on that makes it look that way.

I think the difference is just the bulb. Standard is with the orange bulb, and some people put a coated bulb that isn't orange until on.

What you are looking for is the OEM clear lenses with the stock orange amber bulb installed. Most people opt to switch out the amber bulbs and get a bulb that complements their clear lenses better. However, you can also just leave the stock orange bulb in there to get the look that you want. Here is a link to the OEM clear lens kit:

I saw what I liked on an M3 at the dealership the other day, they were clear but you could still see some orange on it, unlike those that are totally clear.

Please take comfort in knowing that it actually costs extra money to get the totally
clear effect. If you like the stock fussy amber look, that is great news for you could

True, having that preference can save you about $50 which is the cost of the bulbs I sell that get rid of the orange look.

Oh so they really come like that, but people just replace the bulbs. ? I've never seen what I liked in person until I saw that M3, I couldn't tell if they were like that with the parking light on or off. I finally came across what I liked at bavauto.com, though in the magazine they only offered the white looking clear corners. Thanks!

Go to Pepboys.com and search for titanium series bulbs by APC, i have a set and the are INVISIBLE with the lights off! The are a nice orangeish yellow when on.

Yup, that is how they come, most people just dont like the orange bulbs so they change them out

Actually, you could just take a two-step approach and start with the clear corners (covers) first. Then, give it a few weeks with the standard amber bulbs to see if you like it. If you don't, then go get the clear bulbs as well. You'd determine what you like and not end up spending the extra $$ on the bulbs if you are happy with the "egg yolk look."

This is probably what I will do. I'm about 2 weeks away from getting a 330i ZHP in Sapphire Black. Clear corners and the Sapphire Black reflector replacements are my first to-do. I'll hold off on the bulbs to see how it looks.

I want it to have the orange look wether on or off. My car is silver and I've seen many with the clear corners without the yellow bulb and I don't like it very much, but on other colors I do, just not on silver or white cars.

There are 2 kinds of clear corners, Smoked, and Clear. The orange your seeing in the clear is probably the bulb. I have smoked lense in my E46 coupe, with stealth bulbs, The bulbs are silver so they cant be seen except when on! Bavarian Autosport has the lenses. and I can find out exactly who make sthe bulbs.

Another option to lose the eggyolk look (that is, if you don't like it) is to take your regular amber bulbs and put a light coat of high temperature paint on them. They will still illuminate amber but will not be orange when off.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I think my silver car looks better without the yolk (or the reflectors)

Just the price. Bimmian still ships out your order, and I input it directly into their system. I'm just hooking you guys up with better prices, that's all.

Well, your sedan used to have amber reflectors before you swapped out for the clears. Not on the bumber, though, but built in to the stock front corner light housings. You still have the reflectors in the front corners, but now they are no longer amber.

BMW gave each version of the car different reflectors to give each body style a different look, purely for marketting purposes.

when did they satrt putting the reflectors on the bumper? or was it juts with coupes?
