I just heard back from Nancy Mcdonald (who must work with Leonora)
"Please be advised BMW will pay for the parts on the pixel repair needed on your vehicle. You will be responsible for the labor, please contact BMW of Bellevue to make an appointment at your convenience. If you have any questions please let me know, Thank You Nancy McDonald BMW NA Customer Relations 201-263-8225" It looks like everything is all set up. I just need to go to the dealer and fork over $100 or so. Thanks for starting this thread! |

I just got my dead pixels fixed. I was in the dealership last week getting my car’s transmission looked at (it was shifting hard) when I had mentioned to the service rep that I had dead pixels and that it would be nice if they could fix them. Much to my surprise he said no problem and order a new display. Sure enough, I went to the dealership this morning and they put it in -- free of charge! I was expecting maybe a 50-100 install fee. Anyways, I would like to know why my treatment was so much different than any one else’s (not that I am complaining). I don't know if it is because I have a '03 with only 22K miles (original warranty) on it or because they have stuck it to me on ever other car I have taken them and now they are showing mercy

Got a return call from BMWNA, they are covering 100% for both my dash and climate control replacement (in my 540i6). The rep that called stated that the BMW coverage is allocated in different amounts on a "case by case" basis. She contacted the local service rep for me and arranged my drop off for this week.

Just sent a mail off regarding the cluster on my 97 540i with 95k miles. I'm the second owner, so I'm hoping that I won't get reamed...

Here's my story:
Sent an e-mail to Leonara, got a replay a couple of weeks later asking for more info (VIN, dealer, etc.). Sent reply, got a voice mail from Jay Hanson at BMW NA Friday. Called back today and he told me BMW NA would cover ALL costs since my '01 530iA was so close to warrantee coverage

No Luck...........
Heard from a gentleman yesterday by the name of "Chris" from BMWNA, and he told me that they would do 50% off the parts, and I would have to pay the full price of labor.

thank you all for posting this thread and all the replies..... I did have a question. i just bought my first BMW. a 2000 528i w/ just under 74K on it. Some of the pixels in the display are out. i was wondering if anyone knew if there are length of ownership issues with using BMWNA to get it fixed, and since i didn't get it through a BMW dealer would that make a difference as well.

what is the e-mail id to send a request ?
i have a 540i 99 on 97K miles with mostly all pixels dead ... here united bmw guys told me $800 to get that fixed. I dont have warrnty , i hope i will get some help from them. any help apreciated : babukp@gmail.com

Just wanted to add another sucess story.
My 540 (01, 85k miles) is at the dealership today having the MID and the Dash Information center replaced. BMWNA is paying for the parts and I am paying for the labor. Two Big Thumbs Up for BMWNA!!!!!

Hey - BMWNA is going to pay 1/2 of the parts to replace my dash panel and repair my missing pixels - labor is up to me. I think this is WAY more than fair, considering I bought my car used (it's a 1999), didn't buy any kind of a warranty, and that it has over 100,000 miles on it. I'm really happy!
