Very disappointed to fine out that the 530i don't have the diming feature on the side view mirrors. You can only get it on the 545.

For the E39, it is only available on the M5. However, for a nice large chunk of change ($1200??), you could buy all the parts and make your non-M5 E39 have the auto-dimming side view mirrors assuming you already had the dimming rear view mirror. I've considered it and several on here have done just this.

I dunno on the E60 but I'm sure someone will find out a way to do this a la carte as they like to say.

My 2005 530i (E60) came with auto dim side and rear view mirrors.
