Dyno of my 330ci :-D

Hey guys,
Just got back from the GA meet and got to dyno my car for the first time. Below is the information about the car. Also, the green lines are the first run, red lines are the second run, and blue lines are the third run. The first run the guy didn't take it all the way to redline. I think he stopped right after 5600 or so. But, I am really happy with the way it turned out. Below is a pic of the dyno sheet and some pics of my car on the dyno.
2001 BMW 330ci
43,500 miles
Remus Exhaust

**Exhaust** is the only performance modification I have done to the car.

Thanks guys. I am probably going to get pullies and then maybe I will get an intake. My goal is 210+ ft. lbs. of torque.

1) Did they exhaust provide any HP or TQ benefits?

2) What are those belts attached to? Is the car pulling on them in anyway or are they just extra security?

Hey guys,
The straps for extra benefit. The dyno was a dynojet. The next time I go dyno, I would like to have new plugs and pullies at least.

Good numbers! I assume that's a manual?

I assume those hp are hp (SAE) at the wheels, so 199.6 or so out of the 225* minimum quoted for the US market would indicate that a minimum of 25.4 hp is lost through the transmission. That sounds about right, assuming the run was done in top (5-speed) or 5th (6-speed) gear.

This is about right for a mostly stock manual 330 on a Dynojet.

Aren’t all dyno runs suppose to be done in whatever gear your 1:1 ratio is, which is 4th in our cars? My dyno runs were done in 4th. The reason I ask, is because on one of my runs, the technician accidentally did a run in 3rd gear and there was a 10 HP difference (less peak HP) on that run. After seeing the graph, he recognized his error and made another run to correct it.

But my understanding is that 1-1 isn't a requrement to get correct results.
From bmwusa.com:

330i/ci/cic Manual Gear Ratios = V/VI/R -> 1.00/0.85/3.93:1

So, yes, it's 5th gear. Good to know, as I have my dyno day scheduled for next weekend.

You can't do dyno runs in 5th. The speed limiter will kick in before you can get to full RPM.
