Have I become more attractive in the past 3 weeks?

I'm just another dorky-lookin' white guy so there's absolutely no reason for anyone to look at me twice. But I'm getting double-takes from lots of people. It's kind of weird as I don't know what to do while they're looking and it makes me very self-conscious - even though I know they're not looking at *me* at all.

your neck must never stop moving if that's the case. (not because there are lots of hot people but because of the # of bimmers around)

Uh oh, do I smell a "what place has the hottest people?" thread coming on...

I'd ante up with Miami.....lived and worked there for 6 months when I was 24 years old....have been trying to get back ever since. South Beach is like another planet.

Actually, Spring semester at Arizona State just started and I'd put those girls in Tempe up against anybody.....uhhh, is my wife reading this? I meant I'd put them up against anybody for their academic abilities and high moral character. Ahhhh, nevermind, its late and I need to go to bed.

By the way, I like that quote, PhillyGirl....

"There's no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit."

Its easily adapted to...

"There's no limit to what a woman can do or where she can go if she doesn't have a limit to her credit."

Sounds like my experience. The day I picked up my car at the dealership, I had two cute twin girls come over and "talk" to me. According to my friend, they normally are a bit standoffish, so we joked that they sensed the BMW on me. BMW, the ultimate chick magnet. I would have talked more to the twins, but at 11 months old, they were a bit hard to understand.

Silver 3ers are a dime a dozen around here (mostly 325i models), my 5er gets the comments "I didn't know BMW made a wagon" and my moto gets the "I didn't know BMW made motorcycles." Feh. I didn't buy them anyway for what people thought.

Quite sad if you need a car to define your own self worth.

I know this will sound stupid but Ill forge on anyway. I got my 330Cic while I was living in Germany. Now, BMWs are a dime a dozen over there. But the color combo and packages I got elicited stares from a great many people (they are fond of cabrios).

I felt like I was driving a much more expensive car while cruising around with the top down. Young and old bystanders would crane their necks as well as other BMW drivers. I kid you not. It was very interesting.

I had two other E46s while living in Germany and garnered no such reaction from pedestrians before.

I think it was more a commentary on "gold diggers" then his self worth .

There are tons of 3ers up here in Concord... But I go down to Nashua once a week, and wow... I honestly can't drive anywhere without seeing a 3er (or at least another BMW, excluding mine)....

It does remind me of one of Jim R's stories - of him taking his S52 Oxford M roadster to a friend's house, and having the friend's little girl come over and, with wide-eyed amazement, say - "It's an M! They're my faaavorite!"

Similarly, on the drive up north where we saw the snow geese, we left the restaurant and saw some sk8er boyZ hanging around the cars, and they said to Dave, "Dude... nice car..."

Then again, I get spontaneous comments of that type in the Miata, so what do folk know.
