Sirius In 01 530i.

Hello everyone. We got Sirius in our X5 and we love it. Now my dad wants it in his 01 530. What are my options? Would the radio be able to be controlled from the OEM head unit? I came up with these parts. Kenwood 6 disc cd changer and Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner. Part number KBMWSIRV2. Then the Kenwood Sirius Tuner and antenna. Would this work?

You should do a search over at www.bimmernav.com for a kit. I'm not sure if there is a factory kit for an 01, if you have nav no, if not maybe. I did the bimmernav retrofit kit on my 00 M5 using factory parts, and it works beautifully, with the display on the nav screen.

Well I called up Sound Gate and they said that it will work. You can change the channel from the head unit. You just cannot see what artist is playing. I hope it works. I will not believe it until I see it.
