Yeah I wonder how flimsy that holder is. Will it bounce when going over bumps splashing liquid or break easily?

I know people don't care for the black side strips on the E46 but on a light colored E90 it would help break up that slab of boring sheet metal.

I actually like the lights. The exterior looks a little better overall then the e46....although it is starting to go a bit Pontiac. Interior is nice looking but appears to lack the nice cozy driver feeling

Every time I see pictures of the new E90 I go from kind of liking the design to kind off not liking it. As I mentioned before this car needs a different "Sports Package" with a more agressive aero and sportier rims with agressive tires.

In these pictures the car looks like a everday mall cruiser maybe this car would be looking sporty sitting in front of a Linens 'n Things .

If I am not mistaken, the e46 did not come out with any significant Aero package with the Sports Package until 2002. I wonder if we will have to wait 3 years before one comes out for the e90. I don't even recall the 5 series having a significant Aero package until very late in the production.

There were aero packages for the E46 earlier than that. The M-Aero kit was available in 2000 I believe. It was available in the accessory catalog.

All of the linked pics from this thread are of the non-sport 330 (or the sport 320d, which has wheels that are kind of bland). I also wish that there was an aero kit, but the early E46 328i's with ZSP didn't have a body kit either. The only differentiation between the E46 328i non-ZSP and the 328i with ZSP was the choice of wheels, andhe lower suspension.

One thing it appears they did not do is have the unpainted surfaces between models. The E46 323i had black trim and grill compared to the 328i, which had painted and chrome trim and a chrome grill insert. I don't think they are making this differentiation on the E90, from the pics I have seen.

My clutsy self would break that off in no time.

I think it looks great plus the interior looks very clean. As far as the cup holder ... maybe it is better to have it up on the dash (I have one in the Audi like this) and surprisingly I went from not liking it to liking it a lot.

I find now when I use my rx8 and use the cup holder, the cup itself is in the way of shifting. Also I remember when I used the cup holder in my E46 and I would have to put the armrest up and it felt awkward when shifting.

What's a dipstick? That annoying guy in the office who keeps asking you to go to Quizno's with him?

Seriously, there is no dipstick? What do we do, pour oil in 'til it starts to come out of the air vents?

hmmm.... apparently, the guy who designed this car is called J. Nagashima......... that explains the japanese feeling of the car.....

I wonder if this is the guy who did the 5 series too... I always thought the 5 looked too japanese....

Not sure if i like this idea though.... If i want a japanese looking car, I'll buy a japanese car... there are plenty of great choices... When I shell out big bucks for a european car, I want a european car....

I think that's an unfair question. It's a new model. Of course it may not be recognizable. Matter of fact, if it did look like a BMW to you (and others), there would would be the "same sausage, different length" complaint, no doubt.

edit: To me it does look like the 5 series somewhat, even without the grill. That would be my best guess as to what it was, if the grill didn't exist.

Why design it to look like the 5? The 3 series should be sportier looking.

OK what's this?
http://totalcar.index.hu/images/test...305bem_178.jpg
My guess is that it's the first aid kit but what else is in there? It's really huge.

By the way, I'm really warming to this car, especially with the two tone interior like our Natural Brown...dark rugs, light seats are perfect for hot weather states like Florida.

The chrome of the grill "bleeding" up on to the hood is tacky as hell. I hope they have a "chrome bleed delete" option . It reminds me of those cars I see around town that have the chrome wheel well caps.

James.
