Angry Rust

Hi
I own a 2001 325 i BMW and it is still under warranty till Aug05
The nuts on all the wheels of my beemer have rusted. I noticed it recently and I took it to the dealer and requested him to replace it. He said however that BMW will not cover for this since the rust must have been caused by the tire cleaner used.

Most people goes to car wash and might have the same problem.

Did any one had the same issues like this and got it resolved?
Your opinion and suggestion could be of great help

thanks
GG

If I had rust on the body of the vehicle, I'd complain, but if it is on the wheel studs, I wouldn't bother. I'd go get myself a new set of wheel studs. If we remove and reinstall those wheel studs on a regular basis, they're bound to get scratches on their outer coating (paint?) and they'll eventually rust. (I'll treat it as normal wear and tear items)

Well the rusted component on the wheels looks not only bad but it could also rust the thread.
Why wouldn't they use steel nuts?
It shouldn't be considered normal wear and tear rather a defective one.
