Angel eyes on the E46.
Is it my imagination, or does the E46 have angel eyes? I noticed on my headlights today, that the light forms rings, just like the angel eyes.

I assure you, you're just seeing the pattern of how the regular headlights reflect around the rear headlight reflector piece.. |

How much do aftermarket angel eyes cost for a 330 (convertible), and does that affect the xenon lights at all?

Definetly dont have them, but I know what you are talking about. The ridges around the halogen headlights if you look at a certain angle kind of look like angel eyes.
Anyway you can get these they were $100 and work great wiring harness and everything. Leistung motorworkes.

Should I be buying a new car with xenon headlights if I'm going to get aftermarket angel lights?

Dude, really. Put safety and function first (HIDs), bling second (angel eyes). That being said, I don't think it makes a difference.

Heh, I don't really get that because I don't have HIDs, xenons, or angel eyes on my current car - so I don't realy know the definition of any of those other than the xenons I've seen look hot.
Why wouldn't I? Because I don't know what all the "angel eyes" include, and I don't want to duplicate buying xenons. ELmO |

http://www.leistungmotorwerkes.com/ As for the other poster, xenons are headlights, instead of a halogen filled bulb that burns, its a xenon filled bulb that gets excited (cant thing of a better word) and lights up. You need a special ignitor/ballast for them to work, but they take less power then a halogen bulb, 35w vs 55w, and they are alot brighter in lumens then a halogen bulb closer to 3000 lumens when halogens are around 1800-2000. Angel eyes are just the lighted rings that you see in the pictures I posted. They have nothing to do with either halogens or xenons. You put them on aftermarket and wire them to turn on when the car is on (or a switch whatever your preference is). The first pic is what a halogen bulb looks like lit the second pic is what halogens look like off The third pic has xenons (they are in a projector, easiest way to tell the xenon cars from the non xenon cars (till the new facelifted coupes which I believe all have projectors whether they have xenons or not)

Basically you can set them up anyway you want. Mine are set up like DRL's and are always on. I tapped the ECU which is very simple to do. Mine light up when the car comes on, and stay on for 10 seconds after the car goes off. You can make a switch for the turn on if you want, or you can tap your fog lights or whatever else you want. I dont suggest tapping the other sources though. The best is the ECU its the cleanest, and you can always put a switch in between if you want to turn them on and off.

I did a search for you at e46fanatics. Its been covered extensively over there. I just recently bought a set from Jim Powell the man who originally started to mass produce these a few years back. Check it out.
