Just for info.
Alex - what's the difference? I thought (apparently, mistakenly) there were 3 levels of suspensions for most BMWs - standard, M-sports suspension I (used on US sport pkg on 3ers and 5ers), M-sports suspension II (optional in non-US markets, used on US E46 ZHP, US E39 '03 540i M-Sport Pkg, and M-cars).

Granted the part numbers aren't the same due to car+optional equipment weights, but aren't the suspension calibrations/ride/handling supposed to be the same within the model series (ZHP's M-spt II vs the E46 M3 or the '03 540i M-sport vs the E39 M5)? I have the 330i w/ZHP, but have never driven the E46 M3 so I can't compare ride/handling. I had the E39 528i Sport (M-spt I) but also drove a friend's E39 M5 and the ride/handling was firmer/flatter (not to mention the car was 300lb heavier). I can't get the spring table to come up on my old ETK to verify.

Regardless of the naysayers - its clear to me that the ZHP is the way to go for the enthusiast 3 series driver whose not interested in going aftermarket. Maybe its not everyone's cup of tea (for whatever reason), maybe for some its not worth the difference in $ - as many choose a 325 over a 330 for this reason - etc - but for me it was a no brainer. Though I supose there are plenty of people who don't think the price differential of a 3 series is at all worth the extra $$ over say - a Honda Accord...or a Camry - or what have you...so how much is a BMW worth? ANd what of substance makes it worth the extra $ spent? I certainly think the 3 series is substansially better in a variety of areas and am willing to pay the freigth...I also feel the same concerning the ZHP package. But I don't know - maybe I'm just wrong - nuts - stupid...I mean an Accord is 240hp...do you mean we are all crazy for paying more and getting less? I don't understand?

And whilst some find the anthracite headlining a bit coal-hole, I don't mind mining away in there at all .
I actually have very mixed feelings about the wheel. Normally I really like it - its grippy and feels good...but some days - mostly in the winter - when my hands are dry - it feels uncomfortable - bothersome a bit...no biggie - but I do notice it (negatively)...and think - maybe I'd rather just have leather (but not sure if I would trade if given the option).

ANd I love the cloth & Alcantra seats. Its my second car with Alcantra - (have Alcantra/Leather combo on my S4) - and I'm sold. Supremely comfortable and grippy, doesn't get hot or cold, easy to clean - etc etc...

Tires do very well - nice grip, nice ride...completes the package....man thanks for reminding me of some of the great reasons for getting the (awesome and very well worth it) ZHP package....and did I mention that (very exclusive) M suspension....
