What is the difference of the 2004 X3 3.0 and the 2005 X3 3.0?
Also do you think its worth buying a new 2004 instead of a 2005?

2005 is a better *****- standard wood trim/aluminum trim (your choice), standard moonroof, and no charge auto transmission, with no price increase.

Generally speaking, that is true. However, we just bought a used 2004 X3 - 3.0, fully loaded -w- 8,000 miles for $34,000.00. Our local dealer (Long Beach BMW) has about 6 new X3 - 3.0's (equipped pretty much the same, with MSRP's in the range of $40-$42K) with window prices of $38K. Who knows what they would really take?

Anyhow, I guess it just depends where you are, what the local inventory is, and just how motivated your local dealers are at the moment.

Regarding your first question, I have heard that for 2005, the suspension has been softened up a bit, the sheetmetal crease on the side does not extend into the quarterpanel, the interior door latches are now chromed instead of plastic, the front dash is now unicolor instead of two color.

This is only what I've heard, not confirmed. Anyone out there with a 2005, can you confirm?

My dash is 2 toned, but I do have chromed door handles.

I bought a new 2004 3.0 in December, premium package, black metallic, stick, $41.2K sticker, $34.7 to me.
