X5 3.0d or RX330?
OK, i'm gonna keep this short and simple.
I am at the brink of purchasing a 3.0d this weekend, and just wondering whether there are any last minute says that could make me change my mind (dont think so anyway) talked to my brother today about my decision, and he told me to at LEAST have a look at RX330 cause according to him, i can get the top of the range 330 at the same price as 3.0d! meaning i get the works if i buy the 330. but OTOH, owning an X5 has been my childhood dream, so my decision is pretty much set anyway. but i promised him i will visit a local lexus dealer before buying this weekend.any inputs would be appreciated thanks. |

The lexus would be a reliable, dependable but (in my opinion) boring car to own. Plus, the x5 looks fantasic, inside and out. (not even mentioning the best diesel in the world up front...sorry usa folks) Mat 3.d,manual,air susp,sport...etc yeh, they got me 2. |

Thanks for the reply Mat.
Whereabouts are you? Which dealer did you buy your 3.0d from and how long was the wait? |

The RX330 is a ladies car. Just look at who drives around in them in Sydney. It is better reliablility wise and better equipped - Reverse camera, Mark Levinson stereo system, touch screen nav BUT lacking in street cred and handling.
Can't go wrong with 3d or 3i. You also can't go wrong with BMW Sydney - excellent service always. |

Well my family currently has a x5 4.4 sport, RX330 and a RX300. These cars are very different. If you want a luxury ride(soft and plush) with all the amenities and gas milage then go for the RX. If you want a drivers car that is not as soft and plushy as the lexus then you will want the BMW. BMW's are drivers cars where the driving experience is the main goal, where Lexus is a car that you drive to get you where you are going in a luxury way.

thanks for the feedbacks guys
bmwxdrive, if i do judge from the looks, i would definitely go for x5 i think what you've all said are true, at the end of the day, it goes down to what we are after, if i want luxury - i go for rx330, but if i want sheer driving pleasure - X5 it is!! looks like the decision is made but i still have to pay the local lexus dealer a visit as promised hehehe though i dont think it'd make any difference. |

today is the day my dream comes true
finally got my x5!!!! ![]() so i went to 2 dealers today with my brother, my bro knew the sales guy in the first dealership, and there was no ready stock available, so i got the sales guy to quote the price if i want to spec one today, price turns out ok, with some discount provided, BUT... delivery will only take place in mid or end of JUNE! thats way too long, so we decided to visit the second dealership, i was keeping my hope low coz the guy in the first dealership told me the queue for the 3.0d is a mile long. so we got to the second dealer, and talked to the sales guy that apparently my brother also knows, and he told us there is a new sterling grey 3.0d that just came in this morning (the exact colour that i want!!! gettin very excited at this point) he then showed us the car and got the specs for us, and lo behold!!! they're all the specs that i wanted!! in short, papers were signed and credit card swiped, the baby will have a new home in two days time gonna be a loooooooong two-days wait. pics will be posted soon. |

btw, 3.0d has a max torque of 480Nm compared to 300Nm of 3.0i |

Sorry bro, but you HAVE to drive both to make the correct decision.
Although not the same car, my mom got a X5 4.4i and we had to get her a LS430 because she HATED the steering and overall BMW and was still in love with my (then) LS400's feel.
