How old are you?

How old are you? The reason that I ask is because of all the petty bickering that I see about the sport package and the ZHP. Coming from owning Hondas and having been on Honda/Acura boards, I was amazed at how much cleaner the BMW boards are. However, this constant petty bickering really reminded me of a lot of crap that "riceboys" argued about on the old honda boards. I figured that most people that own BMWs will be more mature.

I'm 28. I bought a '02 325Ci ZSP when I was 25 and I just sold it and picked up a new 330i ZHP I'm very happy

I couldn't care less what the ZHP haters think. The jump from ZSP to ZHP was well worth $2700

Well, I don't care what other people think of my car, but call me old fashioned.. I just expected a little more maturity or acceptance in a BMW board.

my e46 says she's 5 years and 4 months old. where's the 5 to 10 option.

Most of the folks mocking the ZHP tend to be older. It's not a childish mocking, IMO. It's more having fun at the expense of those who are treating the option package as something more than it is. When we get posts asking about their ZHP CD changer, etc (items/problems not the least bit unique to the ZHP package), it only fuels the mocking. For some reason, many of the people who bought ZHPs see their cars as "almost M3s". And that fuels the mocking as well. So it's not really the package itself that prompts the mocking but the inflation of what it is by those who have bought it.

BTW, threads like this only encourage further mocking.

And I'm 33.

The remaining ZHP stuff is mostly humorous. It started because a bunch of the original ZHP buyers thought they had four door M3s.

This is where things like the ZHP fluid and ZHP bulbs come from.

Im 29. IMO ZHP is no where near an M3.

I find it humorous that the choice for ages on this poll end with 40+. Tells me the approximate age of the poll developer.

And any ZHPbashing I engage in is purely good natured.

I am 22 and I love my zhp. It's classy enough to be a wondeful luxury car yet sporty as it gets (without going M) to satisfy the "young" me

I'm old enough too hate everything new. e60,e90,Z4, 6 & 7 series.

40+ and I'm just happy to own a BMW; a car I've wanted since my early 20's. My 325i isn't the fastest car out there, but it drives great and I love it.

I'm 24. Coming from a family of Porsche's and BMW's, I've been in love with German cars ever since I was driven home in one after being born. My first car was a new VW GTI that I bought myself when I was 18, and I just bought my beautiful 330Ci. There's nothing else in the world like German engineering.

Oh and I just see all the above mentioned mocking as cheap entertainment. At the end of the day, we all still love the same family of cars.

Hi Guitarman, I'm 40+ too (lots of +) and the main reason that I bought my 325xiT was to have space to carry my three guitars (2003 Martin 000-16SRGT, 1967 Martin D12-35, and 2004 Schecter Classic Electric).

I'm 30 and chose the ZHP because I thought the M3 didn't understeer enough.

No problem. It's just that you know you're getting old when you're a member of the oldest grouping available in a survey. I have to admit that this is the first time that's every happened to me.

Agreed. There is very little acceptance here when it comes to variations of the same car model. If a new package comes along and people want to celebrate it I don't think others should jump into their threads and try to rain on the parade to make themselves feel better.

Just turned 30

I love watching the ZHP threads. They're always very amusing. You see everything from buyers remorse, to sheer elation expressed from both sides of the fence. I bought mine because the E46 M3 doesn't come with 4 doors. Within my requirements, it was the closest that I could get to an M3. Yes, it has several really cool ///M emblems and parts scattered around it from the factory. But in the end, no, it's not really an M3. Even so, I sure do love the thing! I'm not sure what I'll do when the lease ends. I'm thinking I'll keep it, but I'm also crossing my fingers and watching the E90 M3 development....

While I love my zhp, I also believe that it is the closest thing you can find to a 4 door M3. I chose not to get the M3 because I have a 1 year old son. Also, the insurance rates for the M3 is rather outrageous. Having said that, I am happy that this hasn't degenerated to a ZSP vs. ZHP thread. I love all BMWs (well, except the new models, and Chris Bangle could go to hell for all I care) but that's a different topic

I'm 42, and I only argue about important stuff, like how bad the Cubs will suck this year, and whether cran-cherry juice is better than cran-raspberry.

How about some love for us Non-Sport 325Ci owners...
We rock! ...(even if we don't have adjustable thigh support and side bolsters... )
