Hi.
I was regularly getting IBS error during scan. Recently friend took a look and said , there is no IBS. It was just bypassed. (I dont know if this something technically possible)
My car works without any problem for 2 years. Do i need to fix it urgently ?
Regards

Your welcome Sir ,, happy to help .. Read the attached pdf,s , its informative reading that will bring you up to speed understanding the functions and duties of the IBS software ....
So my 2012 bmw x3 28ixdrive drives and starts well. But lately I have the battery discharge symbol in my dash. If I disconnect the ibs sensor will the message dissappear? And by doing so will my accessories start to work again. They won't work due to the message. Thank you, Happy thanksgiving

So you both ignored the warning that your cars have an electrical system problem and have been or are about to be left stranded.

The bottom line is your cars battery is not properly charged.
There are several possible causes.
1) Too many short trips.
2) Charging system is inadequate or has failed
3) There is a parasitic load discharging the battery when engine is not running.
4) You have accessories connected directly to the battery, defeating BMW's energy management system
5) You have a bad battery

Short term fix is to charge your battery with a 10-15 amp AGM rated charger until you can identify the cause
