How to control Defrost air temp?

With Automatic Climate Control, how does one control the air temp when using the Defrost Windows / Remove Condensation button? Sometimes it blows hot air, sometimes cold air, regardless of the outside temperature or the Climate Control desired temp setting. Anyone know?

mine usually blows like a hairdrier... one of those things I just don't like. I can usually get the temp down with AC, but not ideal

... but along the same lines, for some reason the "torso air temp" rotary dial on the center console doesn't work too well for me. It's not very sensitive, and even when I turn it all the way to the max "heat' setting, all it does is lowers the cold air blowing out.

Mine always blow hot...no matter the weather. Just one of those anoying things I don't like about the car. De-misting my car on a summer day is really uncomfortable.

When the weather is warm, I just turn on the AC, select the top/windsheild vent, and boost the fan up all the way. A pain, but it at least hits the glass with cool dry air and not hot moist air that would fog things up even worse.
