I just purchased the same 4.8is a few days ago and wanted to know if you took these pics. If so, how do you like the Nikon D70.....I'm looking for a digital camera and it is between this one and the Canon 20D.

X5 4.8is Pics

This is not my X5 - it was a press car owned by BMW NA, and the photo shoot was for an upcoming article in Bimmer magazine.

I highly recommend the Nikon D70 - its a great value and has very good performance, even for motorsports. I have been using mine for a year and have been very happy with it. Roundel/Bimmer photographer Klaus Schnitzer also has a D70.

That being said, the Canon EOS-20D is also an excellent camera. It does costs more, so you need to ask yourself if its worth the price premium over the D70. You may want to check out this new camera from Canon, which was just introduced and has a very aggressive price. It also has an optional battery grip, which the D70 doesn't have:

I have read some good things about D70. I am also looking to buy one.

David Pogue of New York Times did a review last year for D70 and gave good recommendation.
