Panel under Oil Pan Drain Plug

I tried searching first, but to no avail.
I know that the coupes have a panel under the
oil pan, to be removed prior to draining the
old oil. However, the 4-dr doesn't.
Would the panel of the coupe fit the
opening of the 4-dr?
Also, what's it called exactly?

Thanks.

My '03 325i did not have one. I'm not sure if the coupe will fit the sedan

OrientBlau,

Just curious. If you're planning to do an oil change, then perhaps you may want to invest on an oil extractor. It's a really cool device that suits oil changes for the E46 perfectly. Basically, it pumps the oil from the same pipe as the oil dipstick and sends it to a reservoir. Furthermore, you don't have to jack up your car when using the oil extractor.

If you have not heard of one, then click the links below as well as do a search on the net and on bimmerfest.

Hope these help you.

Flex,

Thanks for the information. I'll assume that you yourself
use an oil extractor for your beauty. Does it remove
as much oil from the oil pan as the conventional way?
