1996 Z3 can you identify these trim pieces?

[SIZE="2"][/SIZE

Found thee two trim pieces in the glove box, don't know where they go or what they are.
Both black, one is a plug of some sort about 1 3.8 " long, 1" dis. on the big end.

The other is a surround trim 2" od, 1" id.

I'll try my first attempt at attaching two pics.

Thanks,
Alan

Not sure about the second one, but the first one is the clip that retains the floor mat, there are 2 other parts that go with it though...

Isn't the second one a cigarette lighter plug?

I had noticed the plug did fit the cig lighter receptacle but wasn't sure that's what it was.
The floor mat thingy I would have never guessed.
Many thanks,

Alan

I have floor mat clips that screw into the carpet backing.
How can those big rings be related to floor mats?

After taking another look at the floor mats, there is a small ring there but a good bit smaller than the item I was asking about.

So, I'm still looking..............

It is def. the floor mat retaining clip. It is a 3 piece set, the piece you are holding is the bottom ring that goes on the bottom of the mat, a smaller slotted ring clips in from the top of the mat and snaps into this retaining ring and sandwiches the mat, the floor screw then slips into the rings and secures the mat to the floor...

After digging up my stored floor mats, it does appear to be a mat ring, but with the inside broken out of it. The ring should not be an open ring, but has solid center with a slot where the part screwed to floor sticks through to retain it.

My bad..........when I said it was larger than the ring at the carpet anchor, I was looking at the top ring on the carpet. Didn't realize there was a larger one underneath.

Thanks for clearing it up for me and thanks to all who replied.
