E39 Dash Alpha display problems
My E39, 528i has elements / pixels missing from the dashboard display.
Most frustrating when scanning the phone directory. Has anyone encounted this before? Is there a common problem? Do I need to pull the dash apart? Any info would be greatly received here in the "outback".

Yes, it is a common problem... here, we have had some luck with BMWNA covering some of the costs. Take a look at this post about BMWNA's response (Only good in the USA.)
DIY repair (though likely a temporary fix.) VDO Repair is an option. Instrument cluster removal instructions and photos.
