E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

How much is too much? 1990 325i

I am looking at a 1990 325i 5 speed in NYC with 110k on it. The initial asking price is $10k. Great shape or not, this seems a bit step to me. What do you think?

Thanks

while prices vary greatly depending on location, i'd have to say that is high by any standards. i would consider $2500-$6000 on a national range for a specimen in good condition.

I just saw a 2001 325i manual, sedan, and silver for $13,500. It has 35,000 miles.

Does that help?

Too much

In Northern VA I paid $2,600 for an 89 325i AT (for a family member, poor AT!) with 110k on it at the time. The car was in excellent condition. New York may be more expensive, but I think $10k is way over the top for an E30. Check the blue book value...You could easily buy an E30 M3 for $10k.

I have been looking for another E30 to use on the track and there are still many good results around that mileage for $1000-3500.

I agree it is a lot. Even if it is in perfect condition, which it honestly can't be at 110k. Thanks for confirmation. Where did you see that 2001 posted for $13,500? I wonder if he even looked around a market value at all. Maybe he will come down off that number, but he will have to come down a lot for it to make sense. We shall see...

10k for a 325i in any condition is BS. If it was a MINT, low mileage 325is with complete records a patient buyer might get $7000.

Some people will overpay for an e30, but not by that much.

325i

I bought a 1990 325i Convertible with 151000 and only paid 3,000. My car is in really good shape. Bought the convertible because I live in California and the weather is mostly nice. I believe the car is priced tooooooo much. Keep looking is my opinion.

Yeah 10k seems ridiculously high to me ! I got my 325i 5spd with 130k miles for 2.5k here in Cali. It is in great shape and was babied, so I am not sure how much more expensive NY is than CA but 10k Vs. 2.5k is quite a bit

What do you think about a 318is with 139k in very good condition going for $4k? Or how about a 2000 328i with 80k going for $8k? BMWs seem very difficult to pin down with the price and worth...

Since this past summer I've bought two 318is, both in VGC, each with 110K and spent $2995 and $3500.

Wow, I didn't know a clean e30 convertible could be had for this cheap! I should look around for one to have just for fun! I always liked them (of course I like just about any ragtop )

I don't think it's that rare to find the 318s at around those price points.
