Well, you don't want to raise the bar for the next model TOO high...

What that allows you to do on the track is keep tires on the tarmac AT ALL TIMES. Remember, stiff sways don't always equal to better times around the track, when your suspension is too stiff you wind up lifting a tire in a tight corner and you lose more traction. I rode in a 745i with sports package with a seasoned instructor driving at Fontucky, and despite the weight he was chasing down various A and B students in their E46 M3s.

3) The 645Ci is only marginally heavier than the E46 M3.

Don't have the times for the 545i but it should be close.
Wow, so why should I buy an E46 M3 when for the same money I can get a 545i?

Do a little suspension work on the E46 M3 and it kicks ass. That's really what it comes down to.

The 545i is much heavier than the M3. If you were to tun more than 1 lap at the Ring, you'll probably start noticing that weight more because the brakes will be working so much harder to stop it. Also, lap times do not describe the car feel - the M3 will sound and feel sportier.

What were the trap speeds at the end of the 1/4 mile? That's the best indicator of which car is gaining speed faster above 60mph.

Also, the functional front brake ducts on the ZHP will probably help brake fade quite a bit... anybody got downforce numbers for that little spoiler on the back?

While we're at it... anybody know the drag coeff. on the E90? I think the 330i is .31 ?

I think it's about 150 grams... it's own weight.

E90 330i: 1/4 mile - 14.3 sec @ 98 mph
330i ZHP: 1/4 mile - 14.3 sec @ 97 mph
