Just got back from the dealer.....

Well, it went for the second time on my 2001 325i. It was just out of the new parts warranty too so I had to pay for it. They charged me 93 bucks for the part and 1.5 hours of labor even though it only took the guy an hour to do the job. I discussed this with my service advisor and they told me all repairs are like that to protect the consumer...they have an amount of time specified and that is what you pay whether it goes under or over the time. I would think you would pay for the ACTUAL time spent on the car....what do you think?

I believe this is correct. Depending on how fast or slow your service tech is, they'll only charge you the allotted time for that particular repair per BMW specs. It is to the tech's advantage to quickly finish jobs as it means more money for him/her. If it took him over 1.5hrs, then you would still get billed for 1.5hrs and vice versa.
