I got mine in today and I think it is worth every penny. The picture is nice and clear and they are about two pounds each! That means a lot of information per pound. I really do think it's the way to go compared to the CD version that you would have to print out. Just my opinion, thanks Shaftdrive!

I did a search but could not come up with answer to this question - why does the Bentley manual only cover through 2002? Is there an update for 2003 e39's and is there anything that needs to be noted between the 2002 and 2003 model years or is it a moot point that i shouldn't worry about?

In case anyone is still interested, I found the Bentley Manuals for the E39 at Powells.com. The books are used but look 99% new. Volume One $29.95 and Volume Two $49.95 for a grand total of around $80 and shipping was free!

I purchased my 530I with 8 miles on the dash. It now has 60k and its time for a 2nd inspection and the dealer wants 650.00 to inspect. Is this necessary? I found some of these parts are made of plastic like the base of the seat. The seat broke from the base and has all my electrical connected, to the steering as well. The dealer wanted 160.00 for the two seats. I decided to do it myself. Is there a special way to remove the plastic behind the seats, so I can get to the plastic base?

Nobody seems to know how to disassemble the head lights completely. I wish I had the books. Maybe there is a trick. Maybe I have the wrong tools. I want to replace the broken beam adjusters. Can one buy these adjusters separately or must you replace the complete light. The slide frame at the BMW dealerships do not show this components clearly and there is no separate part number. Can anybodu help. PLEASE!!!

There is a fantastic procedure on the internet on this. Don't have the page handy, if I find it, will post it. Did mine, and only have the printout.

3 different cars, electronics, etc. Sad to say, you might want to order all of them. You can always sell them on ebay later.

Be advised that the TIS CD from the Ebay sellers might not work with Windows XP or 2000+....I ordered mine awhile back for like $15 shipped and the ETK only worked and I tried contacting the seller but the CD just wont work ...might have to find a old computer maybe to have the software compatible...just make sure you dont purchase from a guy in Texas ...forgot the company name but its a dealership type business

I paid $114 from half.com ...not bad it was brand new and came within 4 days...this is like our bible now guys

The ebay $15 TIS & ETK CDs are illegal copies.

If you want to support theft and buy stolen "property", go ahead, it's your choice, but be assured that those are NOT legal copies. But that was obvious, wasn't it?

I find it amusing that the buyers are expecting "support" when it doesn't work on their system. But hey, I'm easily amiused.
