Wipers just went!
My fiancee just borrowed my car to drive to work today (its snowing pretty badly in Boston).. she calls me 15 minutes into the trip on 95... The wipers gave out... The appear to turn on, then they just stop...
Whats the diagnosis? Toast wiper motor? How expensive does this sound to get fixed? Thanks!

The dealer may be able to reinitialize the wipers. If they can't, the motors will have to be replaced as I believe the control module is integrated with the motors.

The control module that operates the wipers. In earlier years it was a plug in to the fuse box. I would check to see if the wipers freely move - inticating linkage failure. Then I would check power - ie: fuses. Possible she broke the dash switch? Anyway, those are the easy things, beyond that a reset of the system like the previous poster said. If your not in warranty, save yourself 60% in costs at an Independent mechanic. Cost SHOULDNT be too extravagant.
