Pictures: sport package aerodynamics

Hi all. So I'm considering a 2005 330i with sport package. According to the BMW website, ZSP comes with an "aerodynamic package" but I haven't been able to find any pictures of this. How does it look in reference to the ZHP?

The two are fairly similar. The "M aerodynamic package" fitted to 330i sport pkg cars is pictured on page 68 of the 2005 sedan brochure -- unfortunately on a black car, so the details are not very visible. If you don't have the brochure you can download it at www.bmwusa.com

The ZHP pieces are the "M aerodynamic pkg II" and it sounds like you know what this looks like.

I'm sure you're more interested in the bumpers, but for what it's worth, the side skirts are the same for both.

Perhaps somebody with an E46 330i SP car can post a photo of their ride?

Great photos, xspeedy!

I got the M aero II pieces a year ago, but seeing these photos makes me think I should've done the M aero front for my 325iT.

In fact, the side skirts don't do much for me, so here's my personal version of the ultimate aero pkg:
Front -- M aero I
Sides -- don't even bother; leave stock
Rear -- M aero II

Which would have the side benefit of confusing any bmw "experts" that see the car; "Oh, look...there's a sport pkg 330i Touring....oh, wait, I think it's a ZHP wagon...er, wait a minute, it's got a 325 badge on it. I don't know what that is!"

My vote goes to the ZHP aero pkg. After all, it does make it look sort of like a baby M! The Sport Pkg looks o.k., with the fog lights looking quite out of place.

My opinion only.

Johnny

Johnny

How do the fog lights look out of place? They are built into the ZSP bummer perfectly, if anything they look more in place on the ZSP bummer then on the ZHP bummer.

Maybe I'm alone, but I'm not too excited about the lower rear bumper of the ZHP (except for the exhaust & lip spoiler- ). Too tame and too much like the non-ZHP/ZSP treatment. I think the ZSP rear has an edgier more aggressive look.

Anyone else have that opinion?

I can't stand it when people ask my opinion and proceed to tell me why I'm wrong. My older brother did that to me a lot when I was young. He's a rocket scientist so he's always right. But, I'm better lookin'! HAHA!!!

I prefer the M-Tech II look. It integrates the exhaust tips better. The ZSP rear bumper has two horizontal lines that cut above the tips, so they are off on their own below the bumper, whereas the ZHP bumper gives the tips their own space next to the black lip. The shape of the black cut shares a lot of similarity with the E39's M-Tech rear spoiler that came on the 2003 540i 6-speed (same cut line as the E39 M5).
