headlights intermittently not working?
I'm wondering if anyone else has seen a problem like this. I have a 2004 330Ci coupe. Yesterday when I was driving home at night the headlights went off by themselves. I had the switch in the auto position. I flipped it to the manual on position, still no lights. The fog lights and the brights didn't work either. I jiggled the switch back and forth a few times and the lights went on for a minute but then off again.
This morning the lights still weren't working when I started the car. Well, fuse, I'm thinking. But then as I started driving they came on again and now they work. I didn't think fuses could rise from the dead, so I think maybe something else may be wrong. Has anyone else expererienced a problem like this?

Just curious... do you have adaptive Xenons? Also when you said "The fog lights and the brights didn't work either" how about the parking/taillights? Just trying to get a better fix on your problem.

Bad relay or headlamp switch? I will look at wiring diagrams tonight and see if there is a common link.

Seems like all exterior lighting functions are controlled by the module on the back of the headlamp switch (it is quite deep). Maybe a problem here, especially since they do not come on in manual on.

Chopper, thanks for checking! I'mgoing to bring it in to the dealer, but I wanted to check on the forum to see if it is a well-known issue.
