A pillar trim
so, my passemger side a pillar interior trim is pulling away from the frame. it's been adjusted once and replaced once by the dealer, butit will only stay put for about two weeks or 500 miles of driving. archive searches of the regular bmw sites identify that this is not an uncommon z3 problem because only two clips hold the trim in place and it is not secured at the top edge.
other than the one suggested fix of riveting a small spring clip to push into the headliner plastic, are there any other solutions that are less obtrusive yet will allow the trim to be removed/installed as neeed for other wiring additions? has anyone tried a small self tapping trim screw through the top of the panel and into the plastic at the top of the frame or double sided tape or whatever? i'm going back to the dealer for fix number three on this next week (along with my remote locking problem, which i have pretty much narrowed down to the receiver in the interior rear view mirror). dr z |
