Only other problem is for half of the color choices, you have to delete M sport and pick Sport or Luxury package it appears from the note section. This loses suspension and M sport wheel and almost gives you last years base model with the same price increase.

Maybe in near future BMW will only offer fully loaded F30's and buyers will be able to delete whatever they don't like at no extra charge. It all began with mt and moonroof delete, and it appears to be working.

On a serious note, the strategy of offering m sport as standard on the 340 appears to be mirroring what mb is doing with the c400.

Does F30 have no-cost moonroof delete? It looks like M3/M4 has no-cost moonroof option, but it replaces the carbon fiber roof top though.

At least the MY17 340i M sport standard option($2k) is not as pricey as the MY16 M sport package($2.6k), given sport seat and black headliner are already included in base price.

The moonroof delete was from the M235i. I don't know if it's possible with the F30, maybe if you get a CA willing to go the extra mile?

My guesstimate is that the moonroof adds 15-20lb extra of sprung weight, so it is not too bad. The moonroof adds functionality and resale value without much weight penalty.

I really didn't care for the moonroof when I had it. The grating is poorly designed and I'd have heat on my hands on really hot days with no way to keep it out. MUCH happier now without the moonroof. As long as I can get a car without a moonroof, that is what I will prefer.

I checked the Pricing and Ordering guides for MY2017 and I believe its the same as in past years-

Not Increased Top Speed Limiter is default on xDrive

Increased Top Speed Limiter is a no cost option on xDrive by selecting performance tires in lieu of all seasons

So US-spec 3 series will only be built in US? If so the custom order will take half the time to arrive.

What does this have to do with the 2017 MY? Now that there's a thread on that topic please refrain from having that conversation here.

BMW is really busting my chops. I just want to price out a 330i M-Sport versus a 340i. However, the lack of ordering and pricing guide is killing me. I'm under 90 days till my lease of my 435 is up.

Delivery of a new order is 6-8 weeks so you may be OK. You are close.

I'm on the west coast. So, from building to shipping, and getting it to me. This is going to get frustrating. I hear your point, but it will be close.

I think, if you are coming from a 435, you are probably not going to be happy with the 330. I know that my wife has had a few loaner BMWs in a short period of time due to the issues getting her 2016 X5 repaired properly... and I have not really liked driving any of them.

She had a 328, a 428 and is now in a 528. The 324 and 428 were both M sport models. They seem fast enough, but there is not the same immediacy I feel with my 435. The sound of the issue is also an issue for me.... AND my wife who is not a car person at all.

Your probably going to want the 340 unless you want to reduce the price (attempting to hit a certain pricepoint for some reason) or wanting the slightly better gas mileage.

On the west coast we can expect an 8-10 week order to arrival timeframe. And if needed, you can get an extension on your current lease for a month as long as you have a production number.

Oh I hear that, but expanding families mean I have less options. I need 4 doors, and if its worth the price difference, for the lower performance, I could live there for a bit. It won't be my favorite 3 years. However, I should have thought about that before I....well you know...lol

They probably won't start building MY2017 until August.

Congratulations on your upcoming little one! I totally agree that, for little kids, the 4s are probably not the right car. Occasional use (like putting a niece / nephew, cousin, grandchild back there) is fine.. but daily, the 3 series is definitely the right car for that of the two.

Of course, you could do what many do and swap to the X series (X3 would be in that price range I think). Nothing says "american mom / dad" like an SUV lol.

We have one (X5) and have had some issues with it (trying to get BMW to swap us to a different car / buy it back), however I am not soured on X5s... my wife wants another one to replace this one.

Ha, my wife and I are all about wagons over SUV's. If i was going to go small SUV, I would probably get pestered into looking at that Evoque. But the X3 is an awfully nice fun car.

I just left my local BMW dealer trying to order a 2017 330ix - with no luck. Apparently I am the third recent person trying to unsuccessfully order the car. We even discussed European Delivery, which may be a good idea if the numbers work.

My wife struggled with this with her recent new car, a 2016 Tiguan S. The S comes with backup camera, heated seats, auto headlights/rain sensing wipers, heated mirrors, touch screen stereo, this that and the other but no panoramic sunroof, which her last car had. She had never had a car w/out one. Now that we have the car, I don't really mind that it doesn't have the moonroof, but I do open mine almost daily in my car. I wouldn't get a BMW w/out one but thats just me.

Just noticed black dakota leather w/BLUE stitching... nice!

Not really. BMW isn't nice enough to share their plans with me

BMW released a bunch of updated sheets last week and the 330i wasn't included. Not sure what the holdup is from. They might be trying to push the remaining inventory of 328s?

I won't lie...Someone would have to cut me one hell of a deal to take a 16 at this point. Because I can always wait. How much time do they give you after the lease is up to get a car?

I mean if I wait for the 330i and they do a September or October start of production and I turn in in August will they waive my turn in fee? or will I have to eat that 350 bucks over BMW's delay?

That is a question for the Ask-a-BMW-Dealer forum. I don't know much about the end of lease details.
