Dash Light

Had an issue today with my dash lights. The car lit up (red representation) and a red light lit up in the top right corner of it. It lasted about 5 minutes and went off. It happened again later then stopped all together. Does this mean I have a light out or since it stopped happening, maybe a confused car?

Could be one of the bulbs, or it could be the holder that the bulbs sit in is getting flaky or a bad connection that needs cleaning.

The bulbs sometimes melt their solder on to the bulb holder, leading to intermittant false "burned out" indications... Usually, a new bulb and socket (don't worry, it's only about $7 for a front turn indicator socket, assume similar for the rear) are the cure... if the rear socket is more expensive, take some emory paper and scuff off the solder on the socket, and install a new bulb... If you are still under warranty, take it to your dealer and they should handle it under warranty...

My E30 does this all the time. Light corrision in the bulb socket is also a possible cause.
