Navigation Question?

Is it possible to enter a Search such as lets say...Kinkos or any store or anyplace that is not a Business...Travel...Restaraunt...Attraction...etc. I was looking for a Kinkos in my area and I could not find a regular Search button in the Nav to find Kinkos...and it was not under any specialty...so i had to go on my computer and mapquest it...i had previously and Alpine touchscreen Nav and i could just type in the name of a place and it would come up with those places within my area and how many miles so then i could figure out where and how far it was from my...TIA....

Actually, I found Kinko's under:

GPS Navigation > Information > Travel Information > Information on Location > Destinations + > Business & Services > Business > Services... entered Kinko's in the Search by name and got back all of them within 25 miles of my present location, with distance and even telephone number to call them using the optional integrated phone thru the Nav.

Yes, is a lot of menus to go thru but once you do it the first time subsequent searches for any other places by name are very intuitive...

I store this kind of things in the address book for future use. That's a lot action to find a specific point (not that I'd mind).

There should be just a Search menu entry under Information, but it seems that the database is set up in a way optimized for a quick software search than for quick driver search and interface... most of the search is already done by going thru 6 fields before the actual search screen.

Well, I'd prefer a direct search menu on the main NAV screen, for instance, when you are on the map display, just push the button and chose search.

Technic deserves an award...

...for the most helpful advice so far this year:

I have an E90, and I can't find this "search by name" function. Anyone know if it's in my car, too? How do I get to it?

Thanks for any help. This would be huge if I could do it!
