saw someone say something about titanium matte trim in 3er coupe?

i was under the impression it was myrtle or aluminum column trim for 325Ci only. as those are the only two on the website when you customize the car. now i see some people have a more flat looking titanium like trim. whats the deal?

There used to be a "matte" finished metallic trim called "Titanium Finish" interior. It was a choice between either that or "Myrtle Wood." In MY2004 it was replaced by "Aluminum Brushed Column" trim (with the circular brushed pattern). After that they added in addition two more choices: "Silver Cube" and "Black Cube." I have an '05 brochure that now lists all four. (I haven't seen the website lately, but sometimes trim choices are limited by which interior types/colors are chosen previously )

I remember reading somewhere that my car has a "Titanium Finish" something in the interior, but I also have "Aluminum Brushed Column Trim." I didn't know what the "titanium" refered to, but I came to understand that it had something to do with the trim around the dash guages. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me, because I have always wondered this myself!

I believe that titanium trim was still standard in MY2004 on 325s, and myrtle wood came with the premium package. Also in MY2004 they added brushed aluminum as the option with the premium package. I'm guessing that foir 330s it might be a little different. In MY2005, they made myrtle wood OR brushed aluminum standard on the 325s, so titanium was taken out of the picture for the e46 in the US. At least I think this is right.

In other countries there are other options, including "matte chrome."

There are at least 6 different silver-based trims for the E46. Some are glossy, some are matte, some have patterns some don't. Some are coupe only, some aren't. Have a look in the ETK for more than you'll ever want to know.

The silver trim around the gauge faces of a 330 is always the same color, regardless of trim supplied.

Jonathan, What you're thinking of is Titanium Ring guages. That's just the little chrome ring around the Speedometer and Tach guages. It's a "subtle" detail to remind you that you're in a 330 not a 325.
