Hi all.
New guy here, I will take ownership of a 1998 M3 on Tues. From a friend here in SLC, UT. Just thought I would say hi and tell a little about myself... This will be our first BMW, However my parents and brother both have one. We live in Taylorsville Utah, A suburb of Salt Lake City, Im 33, married with 2 kids, girl 4 boy 2. This car will be a replacement to my wife's PT Cruiser...I and many agree it quite a step up, But she loves the PT, I think she need's to drive the M3 a bit more to get use to all the goodies What I can remember about the M3...Its a white 4 door 5 speed with a Dinon re-program and cold air intake, it only had 56,000 miles on it, On board computer, HK upgraded stereo w/ 6 disk cd...Im sure there are other items but like I said its what I could remember. Ive been looking at this site for a few day's and there is ALOT I need to read up on. Thanks

Posted this in the M-Series discussion group as well:
Welcome. I know the excitement that you are now experiencing. I bought a '99 M3 white, 2-dr back in December and have been changed person ever since. As with you, it has low mileage (54,000), 5 sp, Dinan Stage-2 cold air intake, Stage-3 suspension. I tried to find a 4 door, but was not able to. It was hard enough to find a white M3. Some items you may want to consider being a new owner: 1. Read the sticky "E36 M3 Common Maintenance Issues (Reference)" by RWG at the top of the M-Series discussion board; 2. Join BMWCCA. One of the best things about it is that you get their magazine Roundel, which is full of great information, tech tips and editorials. 3. Finally, continue to check on Bimmerfest, both this discussion group (M-Series) and the 3-Series discussion group. They both have good entries on the E36 M3's. By the way, my in-laws live in N Salt Lake. We tend to be in Utah once or twice a year. I'll keep my eyes open for a 4-dr white M3... |
