Hey Duck a little more help.
I did what you said with the gas pedal, and I got code #1231 which you said it was, "1231 Battery Voltage / DME Relay Monitor Monitors the condition of the battery and charging system, and produces a fault if a component goes out of specification or fail." So my question is does this mean the battery or alternator is bad or something else?

|
Check your battery (even if you just brought a new one) then check your fuse related to the DME. You don't have to check your alternator unless, you suspect something wrong with it.
If you live in San Diego and don't mind traveling up to Escondido. I can maybe help you troubleshoot some more.

I wish I lived is SD. I couldn't afford a mobile home there. This Chilton manual I got is pathetic. It doesn't even show me what each fuse goes to. What fuse am i looking for, 1990 325i, 2.5, auto.
