525it fluid leak
Just got a mint 1995 525it touring wagon and have atf fluid on the ground. It looks like it is from directly below the fill canister for the atf for the steering in the front drivers side under the hood. I lost about 4 oz of fluid. I did take it out about 20 miles and did 80 on not rear smooth road but it was not rough by any measure.
What is a good way to track down an atf steering fluid leak? I fixed the regulator assy for the window on my 318ti so I can do a little mech but no big pro with a wrench. Thanks Kevin |

Are all the power steering hose clamps in place from the reservoir to the steering rack? Also do any look like cheap band clamp fixes? That is what I would check first.
