Exclamation 530I steering wheel whine

Has anyone detected a steering wheel whine which seems
to come from the top of the steering column as opposed from a
power steering whine under the hood. Its only noticeable at slow
speeds making a 20 - 30 degree turn in either direction.

Have you checked the fluid level in the reservoir?

Steering Wheel whine is a known issue

BMW changed a mechanical part in the steering assembly when I last took the car in for service. However the problem has appeared again and they will change it again at the next service as part of the guarantee.

So, are you saying you have the problem of the whine mentioned in the initial post or not?
