Rain soaked E46 330 Convert DSC & BRAKE

My son left my 2005 330CI out in the rain for an hour or so. He drove it home and on the way the dash totally stopped working. Upon learning of it I put it in the garage with fans in it for 5 days. Upon powering it up I detected that much of the dash began to work.

Here are problems I'm aware of.
1) DSC and BRAKE lights are both on just like what is described in the Bifecta problem. Pushing the DSC switch or operating the hand brake has no effect.
2) The dash lights and other interior highlighting lights do not come on
3) The Hazard button does not do anything but the door unlock button works fine. This could be an indepandent problem

I'm temporarily ruling out the speed sensors or control module as they worked before the rain. I also expect the three items above could be independent.

Could water in the DSC or brake switch cause the Bifecta? Any other recommendations?

Scott

Convert is drying out slowly

I gave the car another 5 days to dry out and now the DSC & BRAKE lights do not light until they are activated. I finally took it out on the road and confirmed the DSC works as expected and now you can disable it with the switch.

Hazards still down work and I discovered neither do the turn signals. Will debug that tonight.

I learned
1) to have your kids take a different car
2) if your convert gets heavily rained on, avoid turning it on and dry it out for at least a week with fans and a dehumidifier.

Sometimes, I feel blessed that my kid lacks opposable thumbs and legs that can reach the pedals.

Disconnect the battery and then take the cluster out and put it back. Then reconnect the battery and I bet most of your problems will go away.

Oh and one more tip. After heavy moisture from water in the car or direct rain reseat all your fuses. They corrode up nicely when exposed to moisture. Had that issue when water was getting in my car while it was sitting. The sauna effect from the sun caused that for me too.
