Need a new fuel tank

I need a new fuel tank as mine is cracked at the top somehow. Does anybody know a good way about getting a new or used fuel tank? These things can't be cheap, ugh!

Look in the phone book for a junk yard that specializes in european cars.

Used gas tanks are not very expensive.

Parts Train http://www.*************** was the cheapest I could find for new $237.00 on sale (this is for a 1986-1987 325). If you have a i or 16.5 gallon tank they don't carry it. I ordered a used tank from a junk yard in Texas. Shipped to Michigan was $120.00 total. Problem was they sent me a tank for a newer 325e and it wouldn't fit. They we're very nice about it and took it back the next day. Their number is 888 629-7194, very prompt and out to do a good job. The tank was very dirty but in real nice shape. A little cleaning and it would have been like new. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting a new aftermarket one $200 shipped. Not bad considering the dealer wanted $430 or some crap like that. Unfortunately my car is in pieces right now waiting for the part to make its marry way to PA from Cali. No rush shipping, is that possible!? Anyway, wish me luck putting it all back together correctly...

S line

When you get the tank if you have a 87 or earlier 325 or 325e you will need a s connection line, my tank didn't come with one. So far the only place I could find one is at the dealership and they will take 5 days just to get it in and then mail it to me. Our car has been on jacks for three weeks now. After I sent you the last post I found a aftermarket tank for $170.00 at Rock parts. Oh well, live and learn.
