E30 manual antenna

I am getting tired of replacing masts, stripped gears, and motors.
Has anyone tired the manual antenna listed in the ETK, pn. 65 21 1 376 010?

Any help would be appreciated.

-Matt

When I had my E30 325i, I just went and bought a flexible black rubber antenna (about a foot in height). A little bit of electric tape to help wedge it securely into the rubber mounting grommet pulled from the stock mast, a small bit of wiring, and done... 5 bucks. Looked pretty good, no leaks, secure, and no more gears to worry about.

After ours broke for probably the....fifth time...we just left it up all the time. (The car never went through a carwash, so it was no big deal)

Last time I checked with Maximillian, they said the manual mast assembly was NLA.

It never hurts to ask again. Let us know what they say.

FYI, I got the parts from Maximillian.

About $45 in all.
I'll let you all know how it goes when I install...

My power antenna broke, got tired of monkeying with it. I went to an auto parts store and bought a cheap (under $15) black flexible antenna and it works great, and doesn't look bad either.
