Estoril M3 doing donuts on rally

Wow, I gotta say congrats man, you damn near hit a E39 M5, my car and 2 of my buddies cars. Sorry but I just thought that was an incredibly stupid thing to do there, I am all for donuts and drifting but not when the street is lined on both sides with cars Luckily there weren't too many accidents or anything this year.

I saw a estoril m3, maybe same one? Parked on the side of the road (SB roads were packed and small as it is already) with some buddies revving at cars as they passed by) I also saw the same one doing a slide getting onto a street.

Ya guy seemed like a jackass, trying to show off for his girl I think. People like this seem to ruin it, but luckily not much went down.

I got a tad bit sideways leaving INO on Friday for the camera guy but there weren't other cars around to hit. And yea, when he first got off the offramp he drifted and almost hit the M5, corrected and almost hit my car. Then as we were leaving he decides to do a donut and comes close to getting two of my friends cars then as he tries to end the donut he comes close to the cars on the on ramp waiting to leave so he turns and almost hits the guardrail.

Ya, this year seems like there were too many dumbasses on the drive.

People were doing donuts, peeling out, and cutting people off left and right.

Just this year? There are plenty of morons every year.

I've been to the Porsche Parade and never seen such a bunch of idiotic drivers and pimpmobiles like this event. Congrats guys, you've reduced the german engineering into techno-jappo crapo.

Unfortunately that's the kind of opinion that can result from just a small minority of stupid people. After years of trying to get the Roundel and chief editor Satch to consider Bimmerfest worthy of covering, he finally made it this year. I hope that's not the impression we left him with.

who were those two guys sliding sideways onto the onramp at the first meeting point, they had 1/2 a lane of room and they both come in sliding sideways nearly hitting parked cars, the guardrail and eachother. I think it was a estoril and hellrot m3.

That same M3 cut my friend off and he slammed into the median wrecking his E36... didnt even stay at the scene...

Haha that guy was crazy. It was kinda cool seeing it when he wasn't near my car. Then he started doing crazy **** near my car and that's when I got scared and mad. Oh well what can you do.

Anyway, the drive home was great, quick, safe, and no problems cept for an E21 launching a belt. We got home about 830pm.

I was standing there next to my friend's E39 M5 when it happened. What a jacka$$. I'm looking forward to next year's Bimmerfest, but afraid at the same time.

I'd like to know who the jacka$$ at the vista point was - the one who was trying to do doughnuts and was failing miserably. This was happening as the last of the rally cars were passing through. Or how about the numbnut who called himself trying to powerslide into the eastbound lane and actually ended up in the westbound lane, in front of me, as I approached in the reverse direction? Thankfully he corrected, and I reacted in time... x 100

I'm honestly glad I did very little caravanning this time...people out there doing stupid stuff would get ME into trouble...thanks, but I'll pass, I happen to like my clean driving record!

Yeah in general there were a lot of guys with newer M3's trying to act like they're hot **** in a champagne glass. I had a guy in an LSB E36 M3 cut very closely in front of me and then hit his brakes -- like wtf, my car's 14 years old, I may not be able to slow down that fast! I was slowing down to let them get in the front of the pack anyway.

We know it's fast. We're all BMW nerds or we wouldn't be there. Drive fast if you want, but be curteous!


That said, I had a marvelous time. Hope to see you all next year!

i saw that, i was in line waiting to get onto the onramp and all i saw was a bunch of smoke and then an estoril slide toward a bunch of the bimmers lined up.

Funny how in another post people are bashing the police. How much do you wanna bet it's the same turds who are driving like s***?

I would like to see MORE CHP's out there. I also am confident that I won't get a ticket for doing 80 when there are so many volunteers to get one for 100+ and reckless.

I didn't go on the rally this year for the first time, my fifth bimmerfest, for exactly the reasons I see being talked about here -- I was concerned it would be utter chaos. Looks like I made the right decision.

The event overall was as good (and better in some ways, not as good in a few) than past fests. I'll certainly be there next year, having a great time.

However, we need to get some sort of control over the rally now that the event has grown so big. It was a really cool BMW community "bonding" part of the event in the past because is was more an act of going on a very nice drive together. Now it seems to have become a platform for showing off. Count me out of the latter.

Everyone is so high and mighty saying wow these people are dumbasses. I think the road rally went decently well, we had like 5 idiots out of hundreds of cars, not a bad ratio to me. Maybe I missed some of the stupidity sicne I was with some of the E21 guys, I don't know. But I can tell you one thing, the road rally rocked and I would sure as hell do it again.
